Richmond
Richmond is a coastal city in the lower mainland and the location of the Vancouver International Airport. During the 2010 Winter Olympics, the Richmond Olympic Oval was a venue for the long track speed skating events. It is a hotbed of diversity, with an estimated 60% of immigrant residents, the highest proportion of any place in Canada.
Richmond is known for its Asian influences, with a cluster of Asian eateries and shops cluster in the Golden Village district. In the village of Steveston, the Gulf of Georgia Cannery has interactive exhibits on the local salmon-canning tradition.
